Inspired by crisp cocktails for the season, the editors at SLHLifestyle share their favorite recipes for pouring the perfect fall cocktail when entertaining.

APPLE MARTINI

INGREDIENTS

¼ oz apple liqueur | 2 oz of apple-infused vodka | 1 oz of sparkling cider | Garnish/apple slice

HOW TO

Rinse your coupe or cocktail glass with apple liqueur and swirl to coat. Discard any remaining liqueur. Using a mixing glass, combine infused vodka with ice until chilled, then strain. Top it off with a sparkling cider of choice and garnish with an apple slice. For a mocktail: eliminate the infused vodka and liqueur.

CARAMEL MOSCOW MULE

INGREDIENTS

3-4 oz caramel vodka | 4 oz of chilled apple cider | ½ oz lime juice | 24 oz of ginger beer | ground cinnamon | Garnish/apple slice | Garnish/cinnamon stick

HOW TO

Using a shaker, add vodka, apple cider, lime juice, and ice shake until chilled. Fill 2 copper mugs with crushed ice and divide the mixture. Top it with chilled ginger beer, a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, garnish with cinnamon sticks, and an apple slice. For a mocktail: eliminate the ginger beer or vodka.

AUTUMN SANGRIA

INGREDIENTS

1 ½ cups of apple cider | 1 (750 ml) bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon or a red of preference | ¼ cup of apple brandy | ¼ cup of pear brandy | 1 Gala apple sliced | 1 Granny Smith apple sliced | 1 orange sliced | 1 red Bartlett pear sliced | 1 green Bartlett pear sliced | ½ cup of cinnamon syrup | Garnish/cinnamon stick

HOW TO

Combine the apple cider, wine, brandy, ½ of the cinnamon syrup, and all of the sliced fruit using a pitcher. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Fill your goblets with ice, sangria, and fruit. Top it off with a garnish of cinnamon stick(s). For a mocktail: eliminate the red wine & brandy.

CINNAMON SYRUP

INGREDIENTS

½ cup of water | ½ cup superfine sugar | 4 cinnamon sticks

HOW TO

Using a saucepan, combine the ½ water with the ½ sugar and heat until the sugar fully dissolves. Transfer to container and cool, then add the cinnamon sticks and chill for at least 4 hours. Flavor intensity will increase the longer it sits.
